Jail

Fort McClellan, Anniston AL-The War Department formally established Camp McClellan on July 18, 1917. Camp McClellan was a mobilization camp used to quickly train men for WWII. Camp McClellan was redesignated Fort McClellan, a permanent post, on July 1, 1929.A 3,000 capacity Prison Internment Camp for prisoners of war was built during 1943 when Fort McClellan became the temporary home for many captured enemy soldiers.  The official closing ceremony was held on May 20, 1999. On Friday January 19, 2007 the OPS Team went to Fort McClellan around 8:00 p.m to investigate an old hotel and hospital. What we found was that the hotel is currently being renovated and we were unable to gain access to the inside and we never found the hospital. We did however find the old jail grounds and some old barracks. We investigated both sites using digital and analog voice recorders, digital and 35mm cameras, non contact thermometers, barometers, and emf detectors. Upon reviewing all of the evidence we captured nothing on the cameras, no temperature fluctuations, nothing on the barometer or the emf detector. We wrapped up our investigation sometime after midnight.

UPDATE

On Friday March 2, 2007, the OPS Team decided to return to Fort McClellan to investigate the old jail/prison grounds once again. We arrived on the site around 9:30 pm and begun our walk through with a night vision camera, digital cameras, voice recorders and emf and temperature meters. We spent a majority of our investigation in two of the many buildings located on the property. We visited the jail twice that night after one of the members caught some movement on the night vision camera which turned out to be nothing more than dust orbs. One member stayed in the last cell at the end of the hall doing evp work while one of the other members was filming. The other two members were also doing evp work throughout the rest of the building as well as taking pictures with the still camera. We took over two hundred pictures with no results.  We wrapped up our investigation sometime close to midnight.

Take a guess to what we encountered on the Fort last night, a rogue pack of deer that we found to be non-threatning, I think a dog might have run them off. We also found a kennel full of dogs that was guarded by a six-foot tall demon dog. Okay, maybe he was not that tall or not a demon dog, but he was huge and it was dark and it was out in the middle of nowhere and he was fenced up behind a 6-8 foot tall fence. Keep checking back as we will have new and exciting cases in the near future we will be investigating! OPS out!!
